I had a great experience yesterday at the Redmond store. "Rory" took great care of me. I needed new tires and was on a timeline. He made suggestions that would make the process go faster - IT DID! He was a gentleman and a great businessman all at the same time. My car was ready as promised. I am a convert from LS (over 25 years)and will never go there again, Discount Tire has my business now! Thank you Rory and team! Kathie
Well I just found out that the " warranty certificate " is as bout as useless as used toilet paper !!!
I run multiple auto repair shops as well as being a master certified tech. I know when tires are worn and when they have quite allot of life, like mine with only 10000 miles on them !
So this guy proceeds to tell me my tires are 3/4 gone and that he has to prorate them. One of my techs that rode with me started to laugh at his tires worn statement
Ok so my warranty that we pay for that is supposed to cover this on a tire with 10K on it as well as way way over 75% life is no good, got it
Well I hit a pot hole and the sidewall bubbles
Warranty ! Wright ? Wrong !!!!!
To replace 2 front tires that where both replaced at the same time, $685
Called another reputable tire shop and just purchased all 4 plus Mount and balance out the door for $700. And befor you say they are a less expensive tire , wrong ! Exact same brand but the newer design.
So to add insult to the situation. The shop installing my new tires pulls me into the shop to show me not only where my tires installed backwards ( directional tires) but also inside out!!! How dose a tire shop do this ??
Discount tire has lost my business as well as all my shops and I WILL NEVER recommend them again
Good by and good riddance to the rip off kings !!!
I had my tires rotated and refilled about a month ago and was told they had done so when I picked up my car, however, I noticed that the passenger side tire looked really low on air compared to the other tires.
Fast forward to today where I finally remember to check the tire pressure and said tire was sitting at 22 PSI, about 12 PSI short of the recommended pressure for the tires. For context, the lowest a tire can go before being considered "flat" is 20 PSI. These tires are only about a year old now and any tire puncture should've been caught by Discount Tire when they did the tires so as far as I can understand, this tire was not only looked over for damage or re-inflation, or was even deliberately deflated as I don't recall the tire visually looking as low as it did when I took it off the lot of their store.
This could have caused permanent damage to my tire or worse, caused an accident. It makes me question if the tires were even rotated. Unfortunately this isn't something I can risk happening again and I was lucky to have noticed it initially so that will be the last time I go to any Discount Tire.
Discount tire is usually a good experience. This was my first time at this store and in the words of Jerry Seinfeld. "You see, you know how to *take* the reservation, you just don't know how to *hold* the reservation. And that's really the most important part of the reservation: the holding. Anybody can just take them.".
I went to sit down (very well socially distanced) in their waiting area and noticed I had received a text message saying that I had checked in. A few minutes later that they had started working on my car. And less than 15 minutes later that my car was ready. I went over and asked and they said there were still many people in front of me. I waited over 2.5 HOURS after my reservation time before they even started on my car. BTW, they were scheduling people until 8pm if you called in so if you're having tire problems they'll probably take care of you.
I recently had a service at Discount Tire, and unfortunately, the experience was less than ideal. When I arrived at the opening, the staff seemed a bit inattentive, and the process of making an appointment was slower and more awkward than expected.
I was initially quoted a time of 2.5 hours for the mount and balance, but it ended up taking a whopping 6 hours.
To add to the disappointment, when I received my car back, I noticed that there was grease all over my new tires. It was a mess, and I had to spend extra time wiping down all my rims and tires because it looked terrible. I believe that, at the very least, the staff should have taken the time to clean the tires before returning the vehicle.
Overall, the extended wait time, lack of attention to cleanliness, and the overall service experience left much to be desired. I hope this feedback can contribute to improvements in service quality.
In November 2023, I found my BMW X5's left rear tire deflated due to a metal insert. I asked 2 other tire shops nearby, they told me no way to repair the tire, and I had to replace all 4 tires, the price could be $1500 or more. What's more, I needed to wait few days to get the replacement.
The I went to Discount Tire. Rory, their front desk staff, checked my car with special tool. Rory confirmed they can repair the tire, and can fix within the same day, all 4 tires can continue to be used.
He also suggested to replace my wipers. It just met my need.
Discount Tire fixed my left rear tire, now it works very well. It is a high quality, trustworthy and efficient tire company.
Always a great experience here. Have had my tires replaced as well as made use of their free tire air service multiple times (esp as the temperatures fluctuate). At my last visit they even re-set the tire light that was on in my car by running diagnostics at the air check. The tech confirmed my sensors were fine and fixed the problem.
Highly recommended working with them!
Super happy with the customer service here. We had a minor accident which damaged a couple tires and wheels. They helped us pick out a new set of wheels that were in stock and replaced the tires. After this we discovered more substantial suspension damage, which meant we could have just bought new OEM wheels, which are much more expensive, as we already hit our deductible.
After calling them following the mechanic's appraisal, they generously told us that we could return the aftermarket wheels we had bought within 30 days, even though they had been mounted on the car with tires (they had not been driven on due to the immediate tow to mechanic after install). I accidentally went to the Kirkland location at first to affect the return and was told that you are not allowed to return wheels after they are mounted, but when I went back to this correct Redmond location, they had no objection. I was super nervous about the whole thing, but they gave me a path to get the car wheels I wanted without a big extra uncovered expense.
Also, all of our interactions with their staff were very professional and they were very helpful. Definitely recommend you clarify the return terms before purchase/install just to make sure, but I'm definitely going to prioritize the Redmond Discount Tire location going forward.
